#InternationalDayofHappiness 2019: What Makes Me Happy
I literally did not know this day existed until I saw a tweet by Robert Irwin. And yes, this is like the third time I mentioned any of the Irwins by name. I can't help it. I'm a huge fan okay?
So this year I am going to talk about the things that make me happy and why it makes me happy.
What is happiness?
To understand what makes us happy, we must first understand what it is, and what it means to us.
Happiness by definition:
So what is "Happy"?
According to Google, the word "Happy" has many definitions. Some of which include:
What Makes Me Happy:
My closest friends.
I am a socially awkward girl. For me, making friends is not as easy as compared to other people who are outgoing and are very approachable. I am not comfortable in my own skin and is sometimes filled with self loating.
I always have a fear that people are going to judge me for everything that I do, spread rumours and gossip about me behind my back. Which is partially the reason why I don't trust a lot of people, hence do not have a lot of friends.
So to have friends that I can trust, friends who I know won't judge me for what I do, makes me extremely happy when I am around them, and extremely grateful for them.
Animals
I've had animals ever since I was a child. When I was in kindergarten, my grandmother owned and took care of two cats. I've watched my grandmother as she took care of the cats with all of her heart and give them every ounce of her love.
And I've had immense happiness and joy advocating and supporting causes that help animals, especially wild animals, all across the globe.
I've had happiness lending a helping hand to helpless animals that are in danger of going extinct at the hands of human activity. I get the satisfaction of seeing these precious animals thrive free in the wild without us humans ruining the balance of things.
The Irwins
Related to the previous reason which included animals.
I really love their dedication to animals. It is something admirable and, in my opinion beautiful. I love animals and I would never want to see them die needlessly.
I feel happiness seeing how hard they work to make sure that animals and wildlife will have a shot at survival and can bw enjoyed by generations to come. I feel happy knowing that this family is fighting for animals and wildlife.
