#NZMosqueShooting #christchurchshooting : Support and Love in Times of Darkness.

The Forget me Nots are a symbol of hope and remeberance. I dedicate these Forget me Nots to the 49 victims of the shooting.

Hopefully, you are in a better place.

Background Information:

Two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, have been targeted by a 28 year old Australian who went into two mosques on March 15th Friday during Friday Prayer Service.

He live streamed the shooting on social media. He went on to shoot 49 worshippers inside the mosques.

Police found vehicles which were armed with explosives.

My Thoughts On this:

I mean, like I know people don't like Islam. And I know of Islamophobia, so this doesn't really surprise me. Like  I can't change people's views. Also I don't really care for other people's opinions. It's not a truth. It's not facts. It's just. A comment. Just like online, you can delete nasty comments in your lifetime.

The perpetrator said that he did it because there's an increase of Muslims and Immigrants, and that he did it to "preserve white culture".

That's like a saying a lot of white people going to Asia only for Asians to kill white people because they're "preserving Asian culture" or that "there's and increase of white people" or something like that.

It doesn't make sense now does it?

But with everything with hate, there is good people who do not discriminate and who actually cares for others and is willing to support them in times of darkness.

I'm actually really happy to see celebrities who I know and love, share their support, love and respect for those affected. And I'm going to be sharing some of those celebrities here.

Eugene Lee Yang

Member of the Try Guys.
Asian (Korean) American.

Eugene has always been vocal about things he believes in. That's one of many reasons why I was drawn to him, and why he is my favourite, not only my favourite Try Guy, but my favourite person overall.

My own interpretation for why this is so is because Eugene has experienced hate and negativity in his life. Being Asian American, and being a member of the LGBTQ community, he understands what people are going through. As a Korean American, being in an immigrant family, I'm sure he can sympathise a bit.

I may be wrong but these are just things that I picked up from what I learnt, watching Eugene over a period of time. These are just my opinions.

Just because the perpetrator is Australian, doesn't make his views shared with ALL Australians. Some maybe, I won't know. But not all. I've seen Australians, Australian celebrities who send their condolences.

The Irwins

Terri, Bindi and Robert
Immediate family of late conservationist Steve Irwin

If I was being honest, I was anticipating and waiting for their tweets. They're so sweet, caring and kind to animals, that I wonder if that kindness and care was brought to fellow human beings. I didn't know how they felt about things, about different people or faiths. I was afraid.

But all those worries just came crashing down when I saw Terri's retweet of a tweet from Robert which had a photo of a sunset. And they both sent their wishes to the people of New Zeland and the victims.

Then a few hours later Bindi sent a tweet with an adorable drawing of a kiwi bird and a koala bear (which ironically they're not actually bears; they're marsupials) who was comforting the kiwi bird. Terri retweeted this tweet too.

And it took me a while, but I realised that the animals were symbolic and that it represented both Australia and New Zealand! This picture was trying to say that Australia was behind NZ, supporting the victims of the shooting! And my heart just BROKE.

I felt both happy, grateful and emotional all at the same time! And I also felt guilty for ever doubting these amazing people.

Chris Hemsworth
Australian Actor
Thor
Brother to Liam and Luke Hemsworth

Chris Hemsworth also sends his regards.

When I first saw his tweet I was like, "Wait, why is Chris Hemsworth tweeting about this?" and I thought about it and was like, "Oh yeah, he's Australian".

Thank you to all who send their well wishes and regards. May this tragic and disgusting incident never happen again, and that we can come together as a community stronger than ever.

May fear not divide us together, but to strengthen us with love and unity.
